Cracking Up – BBCR4 sitcom

I wrote the first series of CRACKING UP in 2016. It details the narcissistic and controlling Psychotherapist Spencer Pandy’s attempts to inveigle himself into the lives of his ex-wife and children. The second series was produced in early 2018 and broadcast in January 2019. CRACKING UP was recorded exclusively in real locations and has an unusual production quality for a radio sitcom. I composed the soundtrack having listened to a bunch of home-keyboard demos on You Tube and attempted to communicate that effervescence and jaunty sense of joie de vivre.

Radio9 – BBCR4 sketch show

Series 1 of Radio9 was broadcast in 2003 and the follow up was 2005. I recorded and mixed both series, using as many real locations as possible. The first series had a distinctly DIY ethic and utilised many friends and family in the cast, performances often derived from existing everyday idiocy.

The Scanner- BBCR4 sketch show

Written and produced in 2008, THE SCANNER promised ‘the very best (and other bits) of European radio…’ and was a vehicle to satirise and mimic the many tropes and cliches of radio broadcasting. It wasn’t in any way supposed to poke fun at the countries of mainland Europe (I was and ‘remain’ a committed Europhile) but was misconstrued as such by several newspapers looking for a stick to beat their own drum (thankyou Daily Mail, Express, Telegraph).
